If you know me, you know that I have never done any form of voluntary exercise in my entire life , so this level of commitment in buying a pair of shoes is a big deal. Plus, I got them on sale (Filas at 75 % off? Score!) so that's another reason to be happy.
Apparently, running shoes do make a big difference in actual, um, running. I'd been using futsal shoes (because futsal players have to run too, right?) and my ultra - fashionable sneakers, but they didn't really feel as good.
I've also started using this app called Run Double, which lists several running programs so you can choose what works for you and track your progress. You even get rewards for every day that you complete your workout. Being a big fan of positive reinforcement and appreciation, this is a highlight - even if it comes from just an app.
I'm never going to be one of those people who posts pictures of their healthy meals everyday, or who will shove their healthy lifestyles down people's throats (Lor' help me if I ever turn into one of those), but this small change is pretty epic for me, so I'm quite excited. Happy trails!
